Recent Developments
New item in the library: Jewish philosophy for Arabic readers This special item is designed for Arabic readers interested in medieval Jewish philosophy. It is an Arabic transliteration of a Judaeo-Arabic text by a Yemenite Jewish author, Ḥoter ben Shlomo, who wrote a commentary on the treatise by Maimonides (Mūsa ibn Maymūn), on his “Thirteen Principles of Jewish faith.” Many thanks to Muḥammad Ḥussein for his work to transcribe the text and to add explanatory notes, and to ʿAbd al-Salām Mūsā for editing the text.
Cooperation with the Research Unit Intellectual History of the Islamicate World Intellectual Encounters is excited to announce the cooperation agreement between Intellectual Encounters and the Research Unit Intellectual History of the Islamicate World directed by Prof. Sabine Schmidtke. New member of the Intellectual Encounters Steering Committee Intellectual Encounters is proud to announce that Prof. Sabine Schmidtke joined the steering committee of Intellectual Encounters. Prof. Schmidtke is Professor of Islamic Studies and Director of the Research Unit Intellectual History of the Islamicate World at the Freie Universität Berlin.
